Children’s nutritional therapy: frequently asked questions
What does the nutritional therapy process look like?
Children’s nutritional therapy is a powerful tool. I support each child and family in a personalized fashion. Working via phone and/or video calling, I gather a full history during the intake session. During follow-up sessions, we fine-tune the initial plan and re-evaluate your child’s nutrition, supplement and lifestyle recommendations as frequently as necessary.
Consultations for younger children are conducted with parents, with input from the child as appropriate, depending on age and development. If your child is an adolescent, she or he may be ready to have a more active role in the process. I consult directly with about half of my adolescent clients, checking in with the parents as relevant.

My child is a very picky eater. Is there any hope?
Yes, there is a lot that we can do to improve your child’s health and nutrition. By implementing slow and gentle changes, we can make steady improvements. Additionally, getting to the root cause of your child’s picky eating is fundamental. In so doing, we can literally reset your child’s taste buds over time. Read my post on the topic here.
I don’t see eye to eye with my child’s other parent. How can nutritional therapy be helpful?
Whether you and your child’s other parent are together or not, it can be incredibly helpful for us to have a discussion about your child’s nutrition. Especially when the parents have a different perspective on the child’s nutritional and health needs, it can be really helpful to work with a neutral and objective professional on the outside who can help you both focus on the nutritional needs of your child. We can schedule sessions where both parents participate from the same location, or a three-way phone or video conference call if you are in different locations. I have experienced with divorced and blended families, and have received great feedback from the parents involved.
